Obesity in The USA

By Seardan Darrow

We all know it is a sterotype that Americans are fat. But it happens to be true. Right now it is estimated that 2/3 of Americans are fat. 1/3 are overweight, and 1/3 are obese. One of the reasons is because a lot of Americans have poor diets. They eat foods such as fast food. Years ago fast food restuarants super-sized everything. UntilMay of 2004 a person named Morgan Spurlock did a film called Super Size Me. In the film he ate at Mcdonalds every day for a month. He then started to have health problems. Once people saw this they immediately stopped super-sizing everything. Another reason why Americans are overweight is because corn syrup is being put in a lot of foods we eat. Corn syrup has a lot of sugar. Unfortunately prices on healthy food are higher than they are on junk food. Barack Obama's wife Michel Obama is trying to fight obesity. When you drink fruit juice make sure it is 100% juice. Obesity is now a problem all over the world. America makes the world fat. Make sure you try to eat healthy and get at least an hour a day of exercise.
