Illustrated by: Christianna Friedrichsen

The mirror haunts me,
Reflecting a world
Of insecurities,
Screaming words of untruth.

Paintings captivate me,
Revealing a time
Of natural beauty,
Whispering words of grace.

The one behind the glass
Pours low self-esteem
Down my throat,
Forcing me to swallow.

The women composed in the frames
Clothe confidence
Around me,
Exhibiting uniqueness in humanity.
