The past

Old habits always linger, the past never really seems to go away. You find someone you feel you can trust and in an instant it can disappear. One fight, one argument, one mistake and they seem to vanish, leaving you face down at rock bottom never really understanding. It starts to build your walls and leave every bit of confidence and self esteem to disintegrate. Leaving you hopeless and empty. Never knowing if you can ever open up and trust in someone again. Then when your finally blessed with a man, a real man... One who seems so perfect it's almost to good to be true. The one who's fighting to break down all your barriers and accepting every single piece of baggage that comes along and shows you what true love is. When you start falling it's the scariest feeling never knowing if they too. Will walk out at any given time. Like I said the past always seems to linger so you grasp on to cables and rocks to keep your walls from completely crumbling. Always in a constant battle with your mind and heart.
