Summary

This poem is about my grandfather whom I loved very much. I remember working at his house raking leaves and helping him out with "yard work." Something that I will never forget because I enjoyed it so much. I'd work up a sweat and just at the right time, he would come out with a nice cold coca cola classic in glass bottles for me. My grandfather was the best...

On Christmas day of '95
My granddad is no longer alive
How sad it is to have seen him pass
Now he is in heaven with Jesus at last!

As God is my witness I wish I cried
'Cause I never did get to say goodbye
If you can hear me this very day
I love you Grandpa, that's what I wanted to say

I have dreams about you that cheer the night
The thought that fills my mind
You bring the joy of my delight
The best Grandpa of all to find

With a childlike love and steps to trace
I strongly follow in my Grandpa's grace
Love has lessons to obey
I remember what you taught me day by day

As I look up to the night sky
I see the farthest shining star
If I could make a wish come true
I'd fly to heaven to see you

You've left an imprint deep and clear
Through every word and deed
In my heart and in my life
You've planted many seeds
