I never understood why people always fear things, yet never do things to prevent them.

Are we truly fit to perform in this critical hour?
This time of pleasure and pain?
For the darkest hour approaches.
We laugh and sing in the era of scorn.
But who dictates such infamous joy?
All but the dying scream for more.
Perhaps we dance to distract the fear,
or quite possibly our sentiment deepens in time of distress.
In a last attempt at bliss, we blind ourselves.
For none can deny the strength of human resolve.
And in the desert we find water in the sand.
Fear not this passing of hell, for it can be fought and won.
Instead of a final euphoria,
fight so nothing would be ended.
Last in these dangerous days,
so you may live many more.
