Thankyou to every fan and Booksie member who is
helping this page kick-off! We aren't quite there yet,
so keep up your awesome comments and liking our
articles. I hope everyone is enjoying our advice and
gaining something from what we post.
Also, we have received our first non-anon question!
Thankyou, Swinters, for submitting in the comments
Do you have anything to add to our response?
Anon Asks: I saw your article and booksie and I've came for help...
My friends at school are COMPLETELY different from me and
they always take me too seriously. One always disagrees with me
on EVERYTHING I say simply because she doesn't like the
things I like. The other sometimes tells me off for something
which is expressing myself. I don't try to be different
I AM different and people just don't except that.
What advice do you have to help me?
Dear Anon: Sometimes, despite how much we may like
a person, things just aren't meant to be. This doesn't
only relate to romantic relationships, but friendships
as well. There are people out there who will accept
you for you and make you feel comfortable in your
skin, no matter how unique it may be. Now, I wouldn't
reccommend just dropping your current friends. Try
having a serious talk with them, maybe during a sleep
-over or other gathering with just the three of you.
Start by addressing your own contribution to the
strain on your friendships by saying you are sorry if
they misunderstand the things you say or do at times.
Next, tell them how it feels when they put you down
or tell you off because of the misunderstanding. If
it goes well, you know that they are friends worth
keeping. If it doesn't, it's time to find a new group.
If you haven't already, try joining a club, group or
sport at your school! Think of the things you really
enjoy expressing yourself in and indulge in them.
Everyone else in these environments will be there
with a mutual interest, which makes it easy to start
conversation and make new friends! Maybe invite your
current pals to join in and give your interests a try
before kicking them to the curb. Just remember, in
the end a true friend will always make you feel safe,
cared for, and special. If this isn't what you're getting,
it's time to move on. You are one of a kind and you
owe it to yourself to recognize and protect that!
All the best,
Swinters Asks: what hair style will fit you if you have
a heart shape face?
Dear Swinters: Heart-shaped faces look great with
bangs, which are an age-appropriate style during
many lifes stages. Wispy, medium-length, side-bangs will
help to take away from a pointed, narrow chin and
accentuate the eyes. When you visit the stylist, ask
him or her to cut your bangs vertically, rather than
straight across. The best length for an enticing,
attractive bang is between the eyelids and brows.
Anything higher will look disproportionate or cause
the forehead to look longer than it is. Anything lower
can distract from the eyes and shorten the face. A
bob-length haircut looks amazing on people with
heart-shaped faces - ending anywhere between the
shoulders and chin. Make sure the bangs are
narrow to avoid widening the forehead.
If you're not ready to jump on the bang-wagon,
or don't wish to cut your hair any time close,
try reparting your hair to create a deep, side
part. Long, thin layers look great with this look
and it's a style that is easy to manage.
Long bangs, loose waves, or wispy, short
bangs, and flirty bobs are a go.
Wide, short or blunt bangs, tight updo's,
or forehead-bearing parts are a no. These all
accentuate the wideness of the forehead
and the pointiness of the chin.
Anon Asks: games to look out for in the next month!!?
or cool games that came out recently?!!?
i have to get my boyfriend an awesome gift. he loves gaming.
Dear Anon: My first recommendation would be Bioshock:
Infinite, which is coming out on March 26. If he hasn't
already played any in the series, don't worry! It's plot is
absolutely unrelative to Bioshock and Bioshock 2.
If he is interested in first-person shooters, lots of
action, and dystopian storylines, check out the game
-play on Youtube.
Secondly, I would recommend GOW: Ascension. This
one requires a little bit of backstory for him to understand.
If he's not one for storyline, he will definitely still enjoy
the game though. If he's interested in gore, blood,
violence and enjoys a third-person POV, he will like
this game. It was released March 12.
Without going too in to detail, here are some more
upcoming titles in March and April.
Major League Baseball 2K13 – March 5
MLB 13 The Show - March 5
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 – March 5
Tomb Raider – March 5
SimCity – March 5
Castlevania Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate - March 5
StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm – March 12
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 – March 12
Gears of War: Judgment – March 19
Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel – March 26
Injustice: Gods Among Us – April 16
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner – Soul Hackers – 4-16
Dead Island Riptide – April 23
Best of luck,
