Keeping Quiet

When we arrived at the house on East Avenue, we could hear the bad pop music blaring inside. There were cars parked on both sides down the road, in the driveway and even on the freshly mowed lawn. Casey opened the passenger’s door and me out of the black Toyota. He snaked his arm around my waist and guided me to the house. As we got closer to the front door, I caught a whiff of beer mixed with cigarets. A part of me wanted to turn around and go home. I could work on my essay I still haven’t started. Or just watched a sappy chick-flick as I sit alone in my room on a Saturday night. No way will I do that. Not when a guy like Casey asks me to go to the biggest blowout of the school year with him. I looked up to find him smiling down at me. It was a well-rehearsed smile. One that could melt hearts and get girls to do anything he wanted. I turned away before my legs turned to Jello. Instead, I took this opportunity to check out his outfit. When he came to pick me up we hurried to the car before my parents invited him to come in for a while. He wore slim black jeans and a red plaid shirt. He short dark hair was spiked up in the front, a cigaret tucked behind his ear. He was very thin, but still fit and almost six feet. He’d definitely fit every teenage girl’s criteria – and he knew it.

Once inside, my ears were already ringing. A boy with short blond hair shuffled through the crowed to reach us. I recognized him from the basket ball game at school the other night. He must be the owner of the house. He wore really tight skinny jeans and had no shirt. He pulled Casey in for a hug and a pat on the back.“Gla-ad, youuu could ma-ake it, Case! Wanna dri-ink?” He managed to spat out. I was surprised he could still stand straight.

“Thanks, but my date here told me on our way that she’s not really into the drinking scene.” Casey said with a shrug. I suddenly felt more relaxed and eased into my dates shoulder.

“Okie dokie! You know where to fi-ind me if you cha-ange your mi-ind.”The guy said before turning around and leaving us in the entrance. For the next few hours Casey and I made our way through the house. We chatted with a couple of my friends, but mostly hung around his. He introduced me to almost everyone there; never once letting go of my waist. Occasionally his lips pressed around the top of my head. I sucked in a breath and closed my eyes. I’d met Casey when he applied for a job at my work. I worked at the little coffee/pastry shop at the mall. Casey was the only guy who’d ever applied. He asked to speak to the manager, but she was extremely busy. “Tyler will interview you. She’s my best worker. If she thinks you’re worth hiring, then you got the job.” The entire interview, I felt my cheeks burn and my palms sweat. He was so polite and charming. I wondered what made him tick and what made him click. He got the job of course. Tonight was the first time in seven weeks that we ever actually hang out. We danced in the living room for countless minutes til our feet ached. I was getting tired, so I checked my watch. It was 11:42p.m. My curfew was midnight. When I asked Casey to drive me home, his grip around my waist tightened.

“You can be a half hour late can’t you, Tyler?” he asked innocently. His tone might have sounded innocent, but I knew the message behind the words were far from it. I found myself nodding in agreement. “What do you say we go to the second floor for a bit? I can tell you’re getting annoyed of these losers.”

Lacing his fingers in mine, we climbed the stairs and found an empty bedroom. It must have been the guest room due to the lack of furniture and artwork on the wall. While Casey closed the shade, I settled onto the small couch. I didn’t feel comfortable sitting on the bed. I felt a pit in my stomach. Maybe I should go back downstairs. “So I have to be honest with you.” Casey sat beside me, our knees and thighs touching. “I think you’re really pretty, Tyler.” I stood still and watched him leaned in to kiss me. His lips were full and inviting. I kissed him back, but wanted to pull back after a moment. Casey didn’t release me and forced his tongue into my mouth. Suddenly, his hand found its way up my shirt. His fingers grazed my skin; making me shiver. I thought I’d understood; I didn’t. Casey didn’t think I was pretty. He thought my body was pretty. Awkwardly, I kept kissing him as he undid the clasp of my bra and his hands continued to explore. I didn’t want to cause a scene or draw any embarrassing attention to myself. I stayed motionless as he kissed my neck and slowly unbuttoned my blouse.

“Are you okay, Tyler?” He asked with fake concern. I looked from him to the door. Without saying anything, I began to stand up. I didn’t want to be here. I couldn’t even remember why I came upstairs in the first place. “No, wait.” He urged and pulled me back down. “Please. We could have a lot of fun tonight. I promise I’ll get you home on time.” He began to kiss me again. I kept quiet; trying to enjoy myself while I silently prayed it would be over quick.

Hey there! So yes this story is very short. It was for my writer's craft class, but I loved it so much I decided to share it with everyone on here :) There are alot of hidden messages and symbols within this story, but who knows - maybe I'm the only one who noticed haha. If you like this story, you should check out more of my stuff! For example, my novel, Asking Alexandria! byebye - LiviBear
