"Hearts can never be practical until they are made unbreakable."

It's the hardest thing in the world.
You hate it.
They will never understand how hard it is.
People speak of gazing into each others eyes- but they speak of romance, of anger.
Simple feelings, simple people.
When you  gaze into someone's eyes- you  see a story.
A story of everything that ever happened to them.
You see their happiness, their elation-
but most of all, you see their sadness.
You watch as the spark is sapped from their eyes,
You see the pain they hide.
Worst of all, you see agony and torment burning in the eyes of the innocent.
They hide it so well for those who cannot See-
but they can't fool you.
You watch as they put a smile on their face for the rest of the world, but their hearts break.
You hate it when you see that look in their eyes- the look you cannot mistake, the look you know so well-
a broken heart stops.
This ability to See gives you this violent, aching need to save them.
To put a drop of happiness in their eyes, just a bit.
You want to soften every blow that comes their way.
These are the people you protect.
You will not allow them to be punished by the weak.
They suffer enough alone.
It weighs you down eventually-
because there is no one down here to hear you scream.
You scream for release, for just one day to be normal, to be truly alive- to not care at all.
But you cannot have it.
It is the forbidden fruit- the fruit you shall avoid at all  costs.
This is your life.
You were given this ability no one else in the world seems to possess.
The ability to watch the feeling of being alone.
You never had to have the feeling of abandonment, the feeling of being unused.
You live out all of these ugly emotions in the eyes of others.
