Sitting in my room at night.
Looking around all alone.
Wondering why i am all alone
When all I want is to be over there,
In your arms and in your bed

Comforted by the thought of last weekend
And what will happen again
Depressed by the thought of,
we were never meant to be
And that you are too young for me

Only a year, only a year
You’re only a year younger than me
Yet it’s such an important year.
We were never meant too be,
You and I.

Yet all our friends are guessing,
who the other is.
Yet I will never tell them,
as soon you are leaving.
Going home and leaving me

It is killing me.
Wanting too tell you how I really feel.
And how in such a short space,
you have come to mean everything to me.
I rely on you for so much.

In some ways you are older than me.
But in this way I am older than thee.
For I love you,
for your sassy mouth and making me laugh;
and holding me tight…if only for a little while.

And making me forget everything,
and making me feel that I am worth will.
If only for a little while.
For we are never meant to be.
Oh how I do love thee.
