Rain, rain, fall on me,
And I will fall into the sea.
My hand is slipping from the ledge,
I’m going to fall off the edge.
Tumbling down to my no doubt doom,
Where I can only pray that death comes soon.
Even when you close your eyes you can still see light,
But this darkness is darker than any night.
If it catches you, that’s your soul,
It takes your heart and turns it black as coal.
It gives you the kiss of ice,
It has no interest in the blessed Christ.
No point in running, it’ll just catch you,
Doesn’t matter if you walked, ran or flew.
You’d never get out or its cage,
You’d never break free from its chains.
So I’ll hold on for as long as my hands stand,
I’ll hold on for as long as I can.
But when it crumbles and I fall,
One question...will I be remembered at all?
