I don’t want to be here where the shadows live,
But I can’t leave-it’s too addictive.
The dark is mysterious, twisted but I belong,
It’s my home, I’ve been here too long.
I hear the voices once again,
The pain explodes in my side and head.
It’s the darks fault, but it brings relief,
Retreating into myself, the only place left to retreat.
The light is burning, so unfamiliar and bright,
When I see it, I kind of want to cry.
The moon resembles me more,
The sun just makes my eyes sore.
I hate the sun, I’m one with the moon,
Retreating into myself, the one place left to retreat to.
I run into the blackest night,
I lose all sense of smell and sight.
And it’s better that way, full of pain,
And constantly waiting for it again.
I hear the welcoming call of the moon,
Retreating into myself, the only place left to retreat to.
