Once Alone

There was once a girl who was alone, she had nobody but the girl never felt lonely, since she didn’t know what loneliness was. She never felt pain, sadness, joy or love the girl did not know because she only existed, her never felt because she was not there, you could say the girl was like a ghost, but the girl did not understand, the girl never thought, never questioned her existence, since her world was black and white, it was a simple world only made up of the girl and her room; a dark room with no widows to see the outside.

The girl never questioned her life yet she wonder what out there, what was outside the confines of her room, the girl who never questioned anything, wondered and wondered, who she was, why had the girl never question before, the answer was simple but the girl did not know, why was the girl finally questioning her existence, the girl did not know that either, but the girl questioned and questioned still she could not find answer, so the girl who had never been outside her room took the first steps to becoming a human.

As the girl took her first steps out her the room, she felt a pain in her heart, like it was constricting her holding her back, her stomach felt wary and soft, the girl did not understand what she was feeling only that the girl was feeling something called emotion, the things she read in her books. The girl wanted to go back to the confinement of her room the only place she felt safe but the girl thought, that if she went into the room she would never get the answer for the questions she had. “No” exclaimed the girl she would not back down, she had to know why she was alone, why did she not know anything. The girl fought back the feelings of sadness and nervousness as she moved along the corridor outside her room, she looked around and saw pictures decrypting things she has never seen, and to her the pictures were fascinating, one in particular made her stop to glance at it for a closer look. The girl saw a person that looked like her with but there was another human with short hair looking at the person who looked like herself with an emotion the girl could not understand. The girl wondered if the other human was of that a male and the emotion in the male’s eyes was love; the one she has read about, yet the girl did not understand why the male would love the woman who looked like herself, since the girl did not understand love.

The girl moved on wanting to find her answers, quickly forgetting about the picture and the male in it, the girl wanted to know the truth about this world, about everything in it, she did not want to be kept in the dark anymore. The girl wanted to be free of her black and white world, the girl wanted to add colour and life to her dark and boring world.

As the girl moved through the dark corridor, she stopped at the sight of two large double doors. Touching the handles the girl wondered if she should push the doors open she would find out the truth to her black and white world.

The girl took a deep calming breathe in to stop the turmoil of emotions, she held on to the handles, griping  the bars tightly holding her breathe, “I need to find the truth to everything, I have to do this” The girl breathed out, as her courage built up the girl became ridged as she thought about what was outside these doors, but slowly she pushed the heavy doors open as faced her fears of what was out there, as the girl shielded her mismatched blue-green eyes from the bright light shimmering around her, engulfing her in a alluring sea of yellow, placing her hand over her heart with a slight smile on her face, she took her first steps forward into a new world. A world where the girl will live brightly in the light; no matter how sad or lonely she gets, the girl will move forward never regretting her decision to find the truth.
