Dying Trees

with screaming lies

I lie awake at night

sit there all in fright

turn out all my light

and watch as the darkness burns

All I see is

Deathly shallow lies

Withering my sight

And through my demons bite

It blinds me, holds me tight

it's broken me down

to my frail bones

I feel so alone

with the times,

I fade out until the glow

dying trees surround my thoughts

sipping away at the loss

artistic vision of lament

to the depths of my mind

is where I was sent

to open it like a book

I'm sure you'd all love a chance

to lacerate my brain

so my thoughts flow freely

into the world of cognition,

wherever they may go
