This is a description of a nightmare I recently had. When I woke up from it, I was hyperventilating and completely terrified.

Being Dragged

She woke up in a groggy haze. Something had woken her up. She reached out with her hand to feel the bedsheets, but instead was met with the rough texture of carpet fiber. Her mind vaguely registered that she had somehow moved from her comfortable bed onto the floor. Just as those thoughts were playing in her mind, the carpet began to slide underneath her still outstretched hand.

Again, confusion set in before she realized that it was her hand that was moving, and not the carpet. Her whole body was moving slowly across her bedroom floor. Something was dragging her. The room was pitch dark, and she could not see a thing, and all she could hear was the sound of her body moving across the floor.

She became consumed by terror. She opened her mouth wide and tried to scream, but the only noise she could make was a desperate strangling sound. Her throat had closed from pure fear. Over and over, she tried to scream, but nothing more than a pitiful squeak could escape her trembling lips. In that black inky darkness, something had a hold of her, and it was taking her.

As her hand bumped into some furniture, she knew she was close to the door. If she was taken from her room she just knew it would all be over. She helplessly grabbed for anything she touched, but nothing stopped her from moving. She wanted to thrash, she wanted to scream, but fear had all but paralyzed her.

As the door frame passed through her weak fingers, she knew. It was all over.
