When I was little I used to think stars were people that died. I don't know why. Maybe because people always say Heaven was in the sky? Anyway I wrote this to get into the mindset of Romeo and Juliet. Hope you like it!

Man looked up at the night sky

and saw silver specs and called them stars.

No matter how much they stretched, they could not reach that high.

They blemished the night sky like silver scars.

The stars could not be tamed or charted.

So Man knew they must play a larger role.

With each humble human that departed,

a new star appeared, bearing the essence of their soul.

Over time, Man knew there was more than met the eye.

Science and Reason replaced fate.

They got too caught up in the need to know why,

and it's too bright to see the stars this late.

No one really looks at the stars anymore.

Or ask why they glow.

Wether it's Destiny, Science, Religion, or someone's soul-is ancient lore,

when you look up at the night sky, more stars seem to grow.

And when we pass, I'd like to think we will each become a star,

and get to know the greater plan.

Always watching from afar,

insignificant in the world of Man.
