Princess Ciara

Do you believe in magic? Well maybe after reading this your opinion will change.

There was this little girl called Ciara who was only four years old. She had two older sisters, called Charlotte and Hannah, who loved nothing better than to annoy her and ruin everything she happened to be playing with. Ciara’s favourite thing to do was to dress up like a proper little princess. She had a dressing up trunk with princess dresses, wands, tiaras and pretty princess shoes all inside. She shared a room with her two older sisters, though she had to hide her princess trunk under her bed right at the very back out of her sisters sight to stop them from wasting anything that was inside.

Charlotte and Hannah had just left for school this particular day so Ciara had the room all to herself for a change. Her mum was downstairs washing up the breakfast dishes. Ciara pulled out her princess trunk all excited to play princesses with her dolls and teddies. As she looked inside she couldn’t believe her eyes. All of her princess things were ruined! She pulled each tatter of clothing looking through the trunk until she got to the very bottom. Yes, every single princess item that was in her trunk was ripped into shreds or wasted in some sort of way making it unable to be worn.

She ran downstairs to show her mum what her horrid big sisters had done to her belongings. She was really upset as these were her favourite things that she just happened to play with every single day without fail. Her mum tried her best to console her by giving her one of her squishy cuddles but nothing seemed to be working. Then her mum had a brilliant idea .

“How’s about we make mums study room into a bedroom just for you so as no more of your things will get ruined?” Mum asked Ciara.

This made her stop crying and finally put that cute smile back on her little face. They both went out shopping for paint, a new bed and some other girly things for Ciara’s new room. The last thing they bought for it was a free standing pink mirror for her to look at herself in while in princess mode. Her mum also bought her some new princess things without her knowing.

When they got back home they didn’t waste any time in getting the study emptied for all of Ciara’s things to fit in. her walls got painted a nice pink colour and even her carpet was pink. This was going to be her very own pink princess room.

Her big sisters weren’t going to be allowed in under any circumstances. Mum sent Ciara through to the living room to watch some cartoons while she got her bed built and some last bits and pieces done. Once everything had it’s own place in her room she put all the new princess things she’d just bought on top of her new bed.

On her way out she put a sign on the door saying ‘Ciara’s room’ just as a last finishing touch. She called on Ciara to come and see what she thought of her new room.

Ciara couldn’t find words to say but you could tell she loved it from the twinkle in her eye and the huge grin spread all over her face. She loved her mirror, her bed and absolutely everything about it. Most of all though she loved having some new princess things to wear. She gave her mum a huge hug and said thank you to her.
Her mum left her in peace to get used to her new room.

The first thing Ciara decided to do was try on some of her princess things. She put on a pretty pink dress, pink shoes, shiny silver tiara and she had a sparkly wand in her hand as well. She then walked over to the mirror and looked at her reflection. She thought that she was now a beautiful princess.
As she continued to look into the mirror the picture reflecting back at her became a bit distorted. Instead of seeing her reflection she could now see a castle. She looked behind her as though she was expecting to see a castle there which she knew wasn’t there before. She reached out her hand and tried to touch the castle and something rather strange happened. Her hand disappeared inside the mirror! She brought her hand straight back out and examined it. Noticing it was still the same little hand and still all in one piece she then decided to put her whole body inside the mirror.

When she got to the castle the door automatically opened for her to enter inside. She saw a maid coming out from a room and the maid curtseyed before her and called her ‘princess Ciara’. She already knew her name!

As she ventured further inside the castle she noticed pictures of herself on some of the walls. She was actually a proper little princess here in this castle away from her annoying sisters. Ciara soon realised that anytime she wanted to she could come to this castle where she could be treated as a proper little princess and that is just what she did, day after day.

But like most people Ciara got older and the magic which was in the mirror rubbed off eventually over time.

Even though Ciara is older and she no longer has a magic mirror all she has to do is close her eyes and she’s transported back to being a little four year old girl princess with her own castle just on the other side of the mirror.

No matter how old you get always remember there’s a land of pretend and make believe happening inside your head you just have to unlock it to be a part of it.
