White grains of sand,

Slipping through my tanned fingers

Like liquid through a sive.

Docile, clear salted water

Licks up the sand,

Leaving behind exquisite remains.

A bright light carries itself

across the royal blue sky,

Soaking any aspect in its intensified heat.

In the distance,

A cacophony of seagulls,

They are racing for a tossed piece of bread.

The idyllic location for summer

Known as "The Beach"
