I imagine those steps that we walked up and up…
At last we would reach the top above the clouds.
When we would lean over the ledge we could see it all,
The yellow city and the pale sky that surrounded us.
I remember that strong feeling I would get
Like the feeling when I looked into your cavernous eyes,
Paralyzing me while you devoured me  into ecstasy.
If only I would have stayed in eternal bliss with you.
I said I would return, but days grew into years
I wish I would have returned sooner to see you again
You would have greeted me with that playful smile
We would have taken that walk through fallen leaves.
But breathing your last breath, hope, but a fleeting moment,
You took that walk alone, walking up as I try to fallow you.
the staircase crumbled behind you, turning into dust
those eyes, that impossible dream…….
