Caught and kept in this crowded cage
Unable to reveal this ugly art
Racing against the raven, ready to release this rage
Too hard for heaven, a heathen without a heart

Paced and pained, a pen on an empty page.
Seeking sapphires in this salient sepulchre
What gallant god would give me this grave
Stranded and starved, viable feed for the vultures.

Sad and sulking, sealed inside this shell
Wrapped in these walls, wishing on a well
If this is my punishment I'm too scared for my hell
If only I wasn't so lonely, without a soul to tell

This cage could seem bigger with someone to hold
And this rage would seem dimmer with someone beside me
If someone would lend there heat to ward off this cold
Then I might find some solace by the sounding sea.
