When my partner left me there was a song that to this day still brings a tear to my eye

This is my interpretation from that song.

I know I’ve already lost you
I know you’re already gone
I know I’m finally scared now
You think I’m strong but I know you’re wrong

I know I should have been better
I know you’re walking away now
I know that you don’t love me
You think I'll be ok but I know you’re wrong

I know I pushed you out the door.
I know I only have myself to blame.
I know you deserve somuch better
But I’m just so sorry I wish I could say more

I know you’re a good person
I know you will go far
I know the right person is out there
But i just wish it could have been me

I know I don’t deserve your time.
I know I have no right to need you
I think I’m scared I know too much
The problem is I still love you,
That’s always been my crime.

I like this poem but feel it has too many words that repeat. When that happens it dulls our sense of feeling. The poem then looks easy. please consider editing it line by line and make those changes that will draw more out of a poem of this nature than you might hope for.
Take the first few lines:
I know I’ve already lost you(To know oh my I've lost you)
I know you’re already gone(Where to start now you've gone)
I know I’m finally scared now(Terror I feel, then and now)
You think I’m strong but I know you’re wrong

Well that's one verse. Good luck with the rest. And keep writing.
