i went to a Christian youth group, and it wasn't his words the drew me into his story.... but rather the belief in what he was saying. this boy was no priest, he was just a year older then myself. and that experience is something i will always remember

faith.
it's hard to understand,
and for awhile i wasn't sure i wanted it.
i wasn't sure what it was or what it meant,
but there was this one day i listened to this boy.
he was by no means a preacher,
but his words were as powerful if not even stronger.
it wasn't planed... our meeting,
rather a happening by chance.
that is what he called it,
faith.

he started his speech with a man
who was walking down a dirt road.
he had burdening choice on his head,
and he hope the walk, and the isolation,
would help.
the wind blew a storm in his head,
and he let out a cry.
\"please god, let me find my way,\"
he closed his eyes,
and the wind that flooded his mind,
became the wind that lifted his sail.
a strong gust came from the ground,
and lifted his feet.
he continued to walk, the level dirt was no longer,
uneven terrain forced itself on his soles.
he was no longer on the road he first set to walk,
but instead a field alive with his savoir's presence
again he pleaded, \"Oh God, let me walk this field, my eyes close,
with a choice in each open hand. Help me Lord,
as i walk brush one of your grains in my hand.\"
he walked for an twenty minutes,
making his way to the horizon.
no wheat touched him, as if moses came and split the field.
he dropped to his knees as he heard thunder.
a shed tear from still closed eyes, he stayed there when the rain came.
he lifted his chin as he heard the rain start to pelt the ground.
he waited.
he waited for the sky to pour herself on him as hard as she could
but there was nothing
eyes remaining closed
one drop.
one drop landed in his hand.
he closed it into a fist
and opened his eyes to a bright daylight,
no clouds in sight.
the ground soaked and everything around him,
everything except himself.
with his mind made he ran home as fast as he could.
