sing me a song
without a word
be my little canary
and test the waters
in your cage
you will stay
where you see
me and my life
for you to drown
so i know the day has come
i will leave and close the door
that is what loving friends are for
without a word
keep the fear at bay
sing me a tune
my little canary

Mistress of Word Play

I liked this poem very much. The coal miners used birds to detect gases in the mines. You did great with the descriptions and the feel of those moments. Nice job. Susan :)
