Clair thought she'd never truly understand people. Some people try way too hard, some just simply don't try at all, and then there are those like her father, who are just plain strange. Then she meets Josh Morenski, her funny but weird neighbor's best friend. Josh comes off as a carefree trouble maker, which is exactly the type of person Clair absolutely can't stand. When they both end up working at the local Gas Station slash Food Shop, Clair starts to see past the wall he's put up and Josh helps her to understand herself and everyone around her a little bit better. But they can only be friends for so long when they find out their parents completely hate each other. As Clair sides with her father, and Josh with his mother, their forming relationship just might become destructive.
