Poem by: lovepoetryandbooks
dark, life, moon, sun
Submitted: January 28, 2012
Sun, where are you?
You have dissapeared.
Left me in the dark,
To cope with the moon.
I cannot survive without you
For you sustain my life
My human being.

I like the symbolism. The great thing about symbols is that they can have multiple meanings and be created by accident, but yield a deeper meaning. The way I saw it,
The sun is a loved one who passed away.
The speaker is someone who loved the person who the sun symbolizes.
The darkness is the speaker's grief.
The moon is death.
Based on this poem, I think you'd enjoy my poem, "The Twister," which is on my booksie page. Basically everything is a symbol in it.
Thanks for the tips. You seem to know a lot about poetry.
That beautiful, I noticed the sun as someone whom you loved and cherished dearly but they left you out in the cold to cope alone, yet when you found the moon you thought it wasn't good enough to live with because the sun kept you going for all these times... maybe you haven't noticed how good second best maybe be... Perfection isn't always best.
Thanks for the info. Your correct though, the poem is for someone I loved in my life but died. It's really nice to have feedback since I'm only 12 turning 13.
A short poem but good...I read the comments then read your poem again....Well written
