Across the room,

you are sitting

bored with your friends.

We're both thinking

this teacher's speech

never ends.

I stare into

your light brown eyes,

staring back at mine.

Just wish you were looking

at more than just my stress line.

Across the room,

I wonder

if I'll ever be your girl.

At the Spring Fling,

you giving me a twirl.

Across the room,

I wonder

if you'd ever be my man.

Walking down the street

gently holding my hand.

I'm only wanting someone,

to comfort me but whom?

It's you dear boy,

sitting across the room.
