Sittin' in the kitchen
Just waitin' to see
Them big ol' biscuits
Mommas' bakin' for me.

I smell ‘em cookin' up
As they rise golden brown.
If ‘em biscuits burn,
I will surely give a frown.

The milk is slowly simmerin'
In a big cast iron skillet
Mommas' gravys' so… good,
Y'all just can't beat it.

The biscuits are comin' out
And the gravy is done.
The family comes a runnin'
But they're too late, I've won.

I'm already at the table
Just waitin' in my seat
Them good ol' biscuits
I'm a fixin' to eat.

My plates' sat down to me
And Daddy begins a prayer.
I sneak a peak at my biscuit
No way am I gonna share.

Soppin' my big ol' biscuit
Seconds, I'll get, maybe.
There ain't nothin' better
Than biscuits n' gravy.
