The One at Last
He often sits and wonders when
He’ll find a girl he likes and then
The moment comes that she reveals
Cupid’s target never heals
She hints to him there’s something more
Something they didn’t know before
That she set aside a spot in her heart
Where a rose wouldn’t grow, were they apart
A garden that needed a gentle hand,
Something found in but one man
The one you search for near and far,
Through many battle wounds and scars
And as you look to numerous stars
Each one a man who left you scars
There is but one, it’s really Mars
The man who ends these star crossed wars
Often times you do not see
What is hidden among the rest of we
Hidden in a patch of clover
Special, yet accidentally passed right over
And when at last you think you’re through
That he’ll be him and you’ll be you
And searching finally has ceased
That you believe love is deceased
You notice one that stands out clear
The clover in the middle here,
Slightly trampled by those before
The lucky one with leaves of four
You clear a space for him to go
So you together work and grow
And finally at last you see
That I’ve found you and you’ve found me.

Thanks! I try to incorporate what I am feeling and what comes to mind, when something is stuck in my head the only way to get it out is to write it out!
