Scene 1

KIRSTEN'S HOUSE-OUTSIDE:

(Maggie, Fisher, and their troops all stand along the side of the house. Fisher looks back at Maggie. Maggie nods her head giving him the go ahead to move forward. He looks at his troops and signals for some of them to move out to the back. The rest of the troops were to follow him and Maggie in front.)

Quincy Fisher:

All right, we're moving in.

Maggie Baptiste:

And stay alert––we don't know what we're dealing with in there.

Troops: (In unison.)

Yes sir.

(The troops walk passed them and cover the front door. Fisher walks in front of the door. He kicks the door in and readies his gun.)

Troop #1:

Moving in!

(Everyone enters. The house is quiet and still. Fisher enters the house and sees that no one is in the house. The troops begin to walk through the house. They look in the rooms. Kirsten's room is empty however, Camille's room is locked. One of the troops kicks in the door and it opens. They see Linus strung up in the center of the room. He is badly beaten and bloody. He looks at them with a barely alive expression on his face. Fisher walks to the room and sees his friend in the center of the room. He puts away his gun and hurries over to him. With haste, he begins to take off the restraints. Linus shakes himself awake and looks at him. He mumbles something behind the gag. Fisher looks at him wondering what he's trying to say. He takes off the gag.)

Linus Ahluwalia: (Very quietly.)

Tr–a––

Quincy Fisher: (Trying to make out what he said.)

What?

Linus Ahluwalia: (A little louder.)

Trap.

(Fisher quickens his attempts to free Linus from his restraints. He stops as he hears the ominous sound of ticking coming from behind him. Fisher frantically tries to undo the knots finally finishing, as the ticking sound gets louder. He grabs Linus and hurries outside to the living room. The door to Kirsten's room explodes off of its hinges as the explosion spreads throughout the house. Linus, Fisher, Maggie, and the troops all fall to the floor. Fisher sits up and looks around inspecting the wreckage. He looks over at Maggie.)

Quincy Fisher:

You ok?

Maggie Baptiste:

Yeah.

(Maggie looks around to see that everyone else is alive and well. One of the troops peaks his head up to look around. He sees that everything is fine and stands up.)

Maggie Baptiste:

No! Get down there may be––

(Out of nowhere a loud gunshot is heard. The soldier freezes up and looks down to see that he was shot in the chest. He falls to the ground. In an instant gunshots flies throughout the room causing even more destruction and chaos. Everyone in the house is trying to remain calm and stay alive. Outside, in a car, Camden sits in the passenger seat looking at the carnage in the house. He looks at Mr. X, whom is sitting down in the front seat smiling gleefully to himself.)

Camden Knight:

Why are you doing this?

Mr. X:

Because I can.

Camden Knight:

You have me. Just leave them alone.

(Mr. X looks at him.)

Please. Let them live.

(Mr. X holds up a switch and turns the trap off. He smirks and chuckles at Camden. Finally, he turns to the road and turns on the car taking off. Camden looks back at the house feeling a sense of unease in him.)

Scene 2

STITCHER'S LAB-MEDBAY:

(Ivy sits beside Linus who is currently unconscious and breathing through a tube. Ayo is trying her best to get him through it. Ivy looks at Ayo.)

Ivy Brown:

It's been twelve hours. How is he?

Ayo:

He's lost a lot of blood. Deep wounds all over his chest and back. But, he will make it through. Clearly this guy did not do this with the intention of killing Linus.

(Ivy looks down at Linus.)

Ivy Brown:

Then why did he do it?

Ayo:

Simple, it was to get Maggie and Fisher out of here.

(Ivy looks at Ayo.)

He figured that if our two best fighters are out of the lab. Then it would be vulnerable to his attack. And look at us––we barely survived him. This guy has been playing us all for fools.

Ivy Brown:

Then what do we do?

Ayo:

We––recover. Get our team up and running and then we come up with a plan to save Camden.

Ivy Brown:

Why?

(Ayo looks at her confused.)

Why even bother. Like you said, this guy played us for fools. He waited six days to kill this Tobias Forsythe guy, making us believe that we had some chance at stopping him. Then, played the fact that he knew where Kirsten lived, where she worked, and who her friends are to force her to make mistakes. And look at what happened––he won! He beat us mercilessly.

Ayo:

So what are you saying? That we––give up on a child? Let this––psychopath just, have his way? Not gonna happen. Not as long as we're around.

Ivy Brown:

You honestly believe that we can stop this murderer?

Kirsten Clark: (Standing in the doorway.)

We have no choice.

(Ayo and Ivy look at her.)

That man––took my son, attacked my friends, and destroyed my home. I am not going to just sit back and let him trample all over us.

Ivy Brown: (Hangs her head.)

Kirsten––

Kirsten Clark:

We can do this.

(Ivy looks at her.)

This isn't the end.

Cameron Goodkin: (Waking up.)

No––it's not

(Everyone looks at him. Kirsten rushes over to his side. Cameron tries to sit up but Kirsten stops him.)

This guy––came into my lab, beat up my friends, and then he took my son.

(Kirsten looks at him surprised. Cameron looks at her and smiles.)

Yeah, I heard. Never really––thought about what it would be like to have a son. Now that I do. I can't just leave him to this guy.

Maggie Baptiste:

Good to hear, because we have another message from our mad man. You're not gonna like it.

FADE TO BLACK

OPEN TO THE CONFERENCE ROOM:

(The screen turns on to show Camden sitting down in front of a camera. He fragilely smiles at all of them and brushes away a tear from his eyes.)

Camden Knight:

Hi Mom––hi Dad. Um, so, since you're seeing this––it means I'm dead. That––that was the whole reason why he wanted me. He wanted to kill me. So that he could scrub the entire program and erase it all. He never had any interest in me besides covering up what he had done.

(Camden looks away from them. Tears falling down his face. He shakes his head.)

It's not fair.

(Looks at them.)

I found my mom. I finally found my mom and now––I've found my dad too––and I don't even get to spend one day with you. But, that's ok. It doesn't matter. Because, you guys are safe, you're alive––and that's all that matters to me.

(Fisher looks away. Maggie turns her head trying to not let this get to her. Camden wipes his tears and smiles at them.)

So, that's it. I'll never get to know my parents. But, as long as you guys are all alive––then I know that I'll be fine. So, thank you, Mom, I love you––and I always will. You're my mom.

(Kirsten closes her eyes feeling the pain in her heart.)

And Dad, I know you love Kirsten, and you want what's best for her.

(Cameron watches on with a somber look on his face.)

I know Mom isn't going to want to let this go. But, if she doesn't, then he will kill her and everyone else you love.

(Kirsten opens her eyes to see his smile come across the screen.)

Please, please, for me––convince her to let me go. All of you let me go. It's ok. I'm ok. And Aunt Camille––

CUTS TO CAMILLE AND LINUS IN THE MEDBAY:

(Camille is still unconscious.)

Camden Knight: (Voice-over.)

I know she did what she did to get her friend back. I don't hate her.

(She finally wakes up, and a tear falls down her face, as she realizes what happened. She looks over and sees Linus still unconscious.)

CUTS TO THE CONFERENCE ROOM:

(Camden shakes his head. Tears are again falling down his face.)

I'm just sorry that I caused her so much pain. And Mr. Linus too, he almost died because of me. And Mr. Fisher––thank you for helping me––

(Fisher closes his eyes and turns his head away from the monitor. Kirsten watches on feeling her heart break into tiny pieces.)

Mom, you took in a scared boy who lost his mother and gave him a place to call home. You gave me hope that the whole world wasn't about to crash. I don't think a lot of people would do that. So please, don't come looking for me, it's too late. I want you to live a good and safe life, Mom. Be happy with your friends and (Starts to cry.) don't worry about me. I still love you. I love you all. You're my family. Bye.

(The footage stops on Camden's face. The whole office is quiet as everyone sits and thinks about what they should do next. Kirsten stands up staring at the table. She hits the table with her hand breaking down in tears before walking out of the room.)

Quincy Fisher:

I don't believe it.

(Fisher stands up and looks at Maggie.)

I won't.

Maggie Baptiste:

We don't know what's true and what's false. We don't even know why he wanted this child so badly. True, Camden has some remarkable abilities, but to go through all of this trouble––

(Looks at Fisher.)

Just to kill him?

Quincy Fisher:

We need to find out who this guy is. Fast.

(Maggie rises to her feet and looks at the screen.)

Maggie Baptiste:

If you have any ideas. I'm all ears. Otherwise––we have nothing.

(Maggie walks out of the room. Everyone else follows outside of the office. Fisher stands there alone watching the footage. He sees something behind Camden that grabs his attention.)

FADE OUT

Scene 3

OPENS TO THE STITCHER'S LAB-SIX HOURS LATER:

(Kirsten sits down at a table. She is working furiously trying to locate Camden and Mr. X. Cameron walks over to her and watches quietly as she continues to destroy herself.)

Cameron Goodkin:

Kirsten––

(Kirsten shakes her head not looking at him and continues to work.)

Kirsten Clark:

We need to find this guy and stop him.

Cameron Goodkin:

And we will. But, Kirsten, you need to take a breather.

(Kirsten slams her hands on the computer keyboard and looks at him.)

Kirsten Clark:

No, we need to find my son now!

(Cameron falls silent seeing the despair in her eyes. Kirsten is barely holding herself together. She turns away from him and resume her work.)

I'm sorry––I––

Cameron Goodkin:

I get it––ok. Believe me, I do, even though I just found out yesterday that he's my son. I want him back just as much as you do. But, what you’re doing to yourself, it's not healthy and it's not helping. Ok, you haven't really taken a break since this whole thing happened. I mean have you even slept since he attacked us?

Kirsten Clark: (Stops her typing and sits up. Looks at him and she has a hint of despair in her voice.)

I can sleep when my son is back home safe from harm.

Cameron Goodkin: (Sighs heavily.)

Ok––

(Walks over to beside her and looks at the screen. He sees the flash drive and all of the files up.)

What are you doing anyway?

Kirsten Clark:

I'm trying to hack into the files of the flash drive to see if there's something we missed.

Cameron Goodkin:

Do you think there's something else on there?

Kirsten Clark:

Right now, I'd settle for a damn map, or at least longitude and latitude. There's nothing on here besides every horrifying moment of Camden's life.

(Kirsten looks at Cameron. Her voice cracks a little and a slight hint of fear is seen in her eyes.)

Do your really think that he could be––

Cameron Goodkin:

No. Odds are that guy sent that video to us in order to rattle us. He wants us to give in to the worst. So that way we would stop looking.

(Grabs her hand and holds it firmly.)

I promise you––I will get your son back.

Kirsten Clark:

Our son.

(Cameron does not say anything. He stares at her for a moment. Kirsten turns back to the computer to continue her search. Fisher walks over to them. Kirsten stops and they both look at him.)

Quincy Fisher:

I think we've found something.

FADE OUT

Scene 4

STITCHERS LAB-CONFERENCE ROOM:

(The Stitchers team is all sitting around the conference table. Fisher stands at the front of the table. The footage of Camden is up on the screen frozen on the frame of Camden smiling at them. Kirsten turns away unable to see his face again. Maggie looks at Kirsten and then at Fisher.)

Maggie Baptiste:

Fisher, what are we looking at here?

Quincy Fisher:

I know where Camden is.

(Kirsten quickly turns back to Fisher, the feeling of surprise and hope overwhelming her as she listens anxiously to see what he found. Fisher stops and looks at them for a brief moment before going on.)

Quincy Fisher:

I didn't notice it until the footage stopped. But, behind Camden, is a word and two numbers. They are––

(Fisher blows up the footage to make the words more noticeable.)

Oversight and 43.

Maggie Baptiste:

Wait, Oversight, I recognize that word.

Kirsten Clark: (Looks at the footage.)

Yeah, it was all over the flash drive Camden had.

Quincy Fisher:

I'm thinking, Oversight isn't just a code word; it's the place that Camden was born in.

Cameron Goodkin:

Ok, but what about the 43? What does that mean?

Quincy Fisher:

Isn't it a little bit weird that a top-secret project can do all of this stuff, and yet no one knows about it, and what about funding? Where are they getting their cash flow? And who is that powerful that they can keep this whole thing under wraps?

Maggie Baptiste:

They would have to be connected to some very powerful people in order to do this without raising any red flags.

Cameron Goodkin: (To Maggie.)

Military?

Quincy Fisher:

Some Army and Military bases use numerical designations for their names.

Maggie Baptiste:

I think I know how we can find Camden.

FADE OUT

Scene 5

STITCHERS LAB-MAGGIE'S OFFICE:

(Kirsten walks into Maggie's office to see Maggie and Admiral Decker sitting down at the table. They look at her. She stops and looks at them for a moment.)

Kirsten Clark:

I'm sorry. I can––I can come back.

Maggie Baptiste:

No––actually there is something that you need to hear Kirsten. It's about Camden.

(Admiral Decker turns to Maggie.)

Admiral Decker:

May we have the room please?

Maggie Baptiste:

Of course.

(Maggie stands up and walks to the door. She stops and leans in to Kirsten.)

Listen to what he has to say. And for god's sake be respectful.

(Maggie walks out of the door. Admiral Decker stands up and walks over to Kirsten.)

Admiral Decker:

I understand that you have recently become a mother?

Kirsten Clark:

Yes sir.

Admiral Decker:

What was it like?

Kirsten Clark:

Terrifying. Confusing. If you know anything about my son––

Admiral Decker:

Kirsten. I know everything about your son. I created him.

(Kirsten's eyes opened wide. She looks at him confused and shocked.)

FADE TO BLACK

OPENS TO MAGGIE'S OFFICE:

(Kirsten walks away from him. She turns around trying to wrap her head around what he just said.)

Kirsten Clark:

Wha–what do you mean you created Camden?

Admiral Decker:

Well, I didn't create him, per se.

(Admiral Decker turns to her.)

But, I funded the man who did.

Kirsten Clark: (Barely containing her anger.)

Who?

(Admiral Decker hangs his head and looks away from her silently.)

Tell me who has my son!

(Admiral Decker looks at her and sees the pain and the despair in her eyes. He closes his eyes, sighs heavily, and shakes his head.)

Admiral Decker: (Turns around.)

We don't know the man's name. That was one of the main conditions he had before coming to work for us. Complete and total anonymity. He never gave us his name preferring to use a codename––Mr. X.

Kirsten Clark:

So what, you just had a man work under you, and never once wonder what his name was?

Admiral Decker: (Turns to her.)

The man had his history stricken from all databases before coming to work for us. The name that he gave to us––was an alias. A––Colfer Graison. It wasn't until after he disappeared that we learned that it was completely false. By then he had what he wanted and he disappeared. But, now, we do know his location. Thanks to the information that your team procured for us.

Kirsten Clark:

Great, then you should be able to hunt him down and get my son back.

Admiral Decker:

Kirsten, I saw the message. Even if we do go in there––the chances of your son still being alive.

Kirsten Clark:

I don't care!

(Walks over to him and looks him in the eyes.)

I need my son back. You––have to get me my son back. Please.

Admiral Decker: (Holds up a piece of paper.)

Your son is at this location. Maggie is readying her troops to launch a full-scale assault on the lab.

(Kirsten takes the paper from him.)

Kirsten––I understand where you're coming from. But, I caution you––take a step back. Try and calm yourself down. You are no help to Camden the way you are now.

Kirsten Clark:

Like I said before. I'll rest––when my son is back in my arms. Dead or alive. Thank you Admiral.

(Kirsten walks out of the room.)

FADE OUT

Scene 6

STITCHERS LAB-CORTEX:

(Troops everywhere are getting ready to mount an assault mission on The Oversight compound. Fisher preps his gun and places it in its holster. Maggie walks over to him.)

Maggie Baptiste:

I should be going with you.

Quincy Fisher:

Maggie––this isn't Kirsten's house. We are going into the very den of the beast.

Maggie Baptiste:

Which is why I should be leading the charge. No one here has more experience at these kinds of things than I do.

Quincy Fisher:

Which is exactly why you should stay. The reason why he managed to beat us so badly last time was because we focused all of our energy on one thing. We played by his rules. I'm not letting that happen this time. If one of us is here, then at least in case the other doesn’t make it back, we will still have a way of taking this guy down.

Maggie Baptiste:

Fine. But you better come back.

Quincy Fisher: (Smiles at her.)

Trust me, there is no way in hell I'm gonna die in some top secret lab in some forest.

(Fisher walks away from her and to his troops. One of the troops walks over to him and whispers in his ear. The color in his face quickly drains as he hears what happened. He turns to the man silent, stunned, and unable to respond. He walks over to Maggie. Maggie looks at him wondering what is going on.)

FADE TO BLACK

OPENS TO THE JADE FROG RESTAURANT-INTERIOR:

(Maggie, Fisher, Cameron, and Kirsten are standing in the restaurant looking at what appears to be Camden's body. Kirsten stares on in disbelief. She shakes her head thinking that what she's seeing is a mistake. Camden's body is lying on the ground seemingly dead before her––again. She walks over to him.)

Cameron Goodkin: (Tries to stop her.)

Kirsten––don't.

(Kirsten does not hear him and continues to walk over to his body. She kneels down in front of him. Everything is quiet and not a single person is saying or doing anything. Her hands extend to his body, shaking, and tears are falling down her face. She furiously shakes her head trying very hard to not believe what she is seeing in front of her. Her body hunches over his body as she begins to hyperventilate.)

Kirsten Clark: (Hyperventilating and breaking down.)

No, no, no. It can't be. (Screaming.) This can't be real! This can't happen again––not again.

(Kirsten's tears fall down on the boy's young body. She falls to him and begins crying and sobbing. Cameron walks over to her and kneels down beside her. He grabs her arm and tries to pull her off of him.)

Cameron Goodkin:

Come on.

(She doesn't budge.)

Kirsten. Come on. Please just come with me.

Kirsten Clark: (Quietly and through crying. Seething with rage.)

He's dead.

(Cameron pulls her off of Camden's body. Kirsten fights back and breaks away, her head hung, and a rage-filled expression on her face.)

He's dead.

(Looks at him.)

I am going to rip his head off.

(Cameron sees the pained and devastated look on her face.)

Cameron Goodkin: (Trying to calm her down.)

Kirsten, listen to yourself for one second. Please just––please come with me. Come on.

(Fisher hangs his head solemnly. Maggie looks away unable to say or do anything to make the situation better. She turns to Fisher.)

Maggie Baptiste:

Are your troops ready to move out?

(Fisher lightly lifts his head up and looks to the left but not directly at her.)

Quincy Fisher: (Somber and quiet.)

Maggie.

Maggie Baptiste:

Are the troops ready?

(Fisher looks at her and nods his head.)

Quincy Fisher:

Yes.

(Kirsten turns to Camden's body and hangs her head beginning to cry again. Cameron moves in close to wrap his arms around her and console her. Maggie turns back to them. Fisher's phone rings. He answers it.)

Quincy Fisher:

Hello.

Mr. X: (Over the phone.)

Hello Mr. Fisher.

(Rage overcomes Fisher as he makes out the man's voice.)

Quincy Fisher:

You son of a bitch.

(Maggie turns to him.)

Maggie Baptiste:

Put him on speaker.

(Fisher puts the phone on speakerphone and laughter echoes throughout the room.)

Mr. X:

Hello Stitcher team. How has your day been?

(Cameron stands up and looks at them.)

Maggie Baptiste:

We're gonna find you. Then we're gonna kill you

Mr. X:

Yes well, while it is good to have dreams, Director Baptiste. Delusions are not so healthy. Maybe you should focus more on burying the dead than making little idle threats against me. I wonder how is Linus, Camille, and––what was the other one's name again? Carmen?

Cameron Goodkin:

You son of a bitch.

Mr. X: (Louder.)

Oh. Cameron. That's right. Little Cammy. Tell me how's the side, boy?

(Cameron rushes over to them in a start. Maggie stops him.)

Cameron Goodkin:

You're dead. You hear me! Dead! I will kill you!

Mr. X:

Cammy, Cammy, Cammy, have you ever killed someone? Do you have any idea the feelings it creates inside of you?

(Cameron falls silent.)

No. Then how about you save the threats for someone whose hands have been drenched to the marrow in blood.

(Maggie turns to the phone.)

Maggie Baptiste:

What do you want?

Mr. X:

What do I want? What do I want? Well that could have a whole slew of answers. I guess, what I want, for right now––is to leave you all with something. A single incontrovertible truth that can never be denied. Death, despair, hatred, anger, lies, deceit, betrayal. All of these things, these ugly things, are what man makes it be. It is men that make monsters. It is men that made me. What I do is simply the will of nature boys and girls.

Quincy Fisher:

So, it's the will of nature to kill an innocent child?

Mr. X:

Camden was marked from the moment he entered this world. The moment that Man made him. The moment Camden took his first breath––was the moment his fate was sealed. Actually no, the first moment, the first moment he knocked on your door. The first moment, you let him in.

(Kirsten sits up listening in to what he's saying.)

Yes. That was it. That was the moment––Camden's life inevitably and tragically––came to an end. Just think about it for one second. If Valerie just kept on driving for a little while longer. I would've lost him. But no, she just had to bring him to you. The Stitcher agent. The––one person she thought could protect him from me. That was her biggest mistake. from there it was easy to track you down and target your friends

(Mr. X laughs at the thought of Camden's life.)

But, I do have to admit, it was sweet. Just so you know––his last thought––was––of you. Mommy.

Quincy Fisher:

Look we're gonna take you down. So if you’re calling to gloat. Save your breath.

Kirsten Clark:

Who made Camden?

(Kirsten stands up and walks over to them.)

You said, that Man made Camden. Who made him? What's his name?

Mr. X:

Does that really matter now? The boy's dead. Let him rest.

Kirsten Clark:

I want a name.

Mr. X:

Fine. It was Ed––Clark.

(Everyone look at each other in shock and stunned silence.)

You can call me a liar. You can believe what you will. But I have no reason to lie now. Ed started the Oversight project, as a preemptive retaliation against the one enemy no one can ever fight. Fate. He knew, that when you joined the Stitchers project. You would inevitably die. Whether it was in a mission or through all of the stress stitching placed on your mind. You would fall. He wanted someone stronger. Someone more capable. So, he went to the good Admiral Decker and requested that he help fund the project. Admiral Decker was under the belief that the project would focus on adult volunteers and he trusted Ed to allow him to move forward, all the while not knowing that it would focus around children. I have to admit, that guy could lie, and he could trick, and he could keep secrets like the best of us. As for the Admiral, he thought, well, if we could get someone who doesn't need a machine or a team to stitch. Then––then it would save the U.S. Government millions in taxpayer dollars each year. Not only that, but, creating someone who can summon this ability on demand. That would speed up the whole process of information gathering and interrogation by about fifty years. With this, the government could stop terrorist attacks, wars, death on a grand scale. Imagine, ten, twenty, a hundred men and women just like Camden, who can stitch into the minds of others without the need of some silly machine. Ed did it, before he died; he created the first and so far––only successful automatic Stitcher in the world. So, in reality, Ed's the true villain here––your––pretend daddy––is the real monster, dear Kirsten. I'm just cleaning up his mess. Ed's the one who took your blood under the guise of some––

(Chuckles to himself.)

Blood donation for––what was it again? Hep D? When you were in college.

(Chuckles again.)

How silly. You gave us everything we needed to manufacture a perfect subject––and you had no idea. Well, I guess I'll let you all get back to your––revenge. Bye.

(Mr. X hangs up. Kirsten walks back to Camden's body and kneels down in front of him. Cameron walks back over to kneel beside her.)

Maggie Baptiste: (To Fisher.)

Tell the troops to stand down. We don't make a move until we've thought through our next move thoroughly. Go.

(Fisher does not respond. He turns to the elevator and goes back down to the lab. Kirsten picks up Camden's body and holds it close. Cameron turns to him and places a hand on his forehead. Kirsten leans her head into the side Cameron's neck and closes her eyes unable to say or do anything. Cameron kisses her forehead and wraps his arm around her closing his eyes. They both quietly mourn the death of their son. Maggie looks on at the two grieving for their deceased son. A tear falls down her face as she too begins to grieve for the young boy.)

FADE OUT

Scene 7

STITCHER'S LAB-MEDBAY:

(Camille sits up slowly and in pain. She looks at Linus who is still asleep and a sleeping Ivy next to him. Camille slowly stands up and looks around. Fisher walks in looking at her. Camille stops and looks at him. She sits back down.)

Camille Engelson:

Hey––listen Fish, I'm sorry for pulling a gun on you, and threatening to shoot you and––

Quincy Fisher: (Somberly.)

Camden's dead.

(Camille falls silent and looks at him shocked and stunned. Ivy wakes up and looks at them.)

Camille Engelson: (In disbelief.)

Run that by me again?

Quincy Fisher:

We just got his body––upstairs in the restaurant––ten minutes ago.

(Camille looks away from him on the verge of tears. Ivy stares silently not sure of what to say or what to do.)

Camille Engelson: (Trying to hold back her tears.)

How's Kirsten?

Quincy Fisher:

She's mourning the death of her son––again. How do you think?

(Fisher turns around and walks out of the room not saying anything. Tears finally fall down Camille's face.)

Scene 8

STITCHERS LAB-CONFERENCE ROOM:

(Kirsten sits alone in the room watching Camden's message. Cameron walks in and looks at the video. He turns to her and walks to the screen. He turns it off and sits down next to her. Kirsten is looking down at the table refusing to look at him.)

Cameron Goodkin:

Kirsten––talk to me. I need you to talk to me. It's been three hours. Say something. Cry. Yell. Shout. Get angry. Just––do something. Please. Say it's all my fault. That I let him take Camden.

Kirsten Clark: (Turns away from him.)

It's not your fault. And that's on me. I had him Cameron. I had him.

Cameron Goodkin:

Yeah and he had Ivy. Do you really think you could've pulled the trigger? Sacrificed your own sister. Kirsten, I know you, there's no way you could've let him do that. It was an impossible situation and you had no other choice.

Kirsten Clark: (Looks at him.)

You really believe that? That I couldn't have done anything to keep him from taking my son. Our son. Cameron you should be getting mad at me.

Cameron Goodkin:

But I'm not. Kirsten, we all have choices to make. And some of those choices just seem more unfair than others. Honestly I don't know if I could've done anything differently if I was in your shoes. If he had you and had a knife to your neck––I don't know if I could've sacrificed your life for Camden's. And honestly, I don't think Camden would've allowed that. As I've said, we all have choices to make, including Camden. He chose to give himself up for us.

Kirsten Clark:

He shouldn't have had to make that choice in the first place! We're the adults. We're the parents. We're the ones who are supposed to protect and give ourselves for our children. But no, we let a little boy give himself to a psychopath, for our sakes.

(Looks away from him.)

We solve crimes and murders but we don't save anyone. Just once I would like to walk into this damn lab and not see a body in that cortex.

Cameron Goodkin:

Kirsten––what we're doing here. It's important and it's necessary.

Kirsten Clark: (Looks at him.)

What we're doing here is the reason why a nine-year-old boy is now dead. And yeah we save lives but a lot of other people die too. And we're always too late to do anything about it. It feels like––we're just cleaning up the mess after it's made.

Cameron Goodkin:

Kirsten what do you want to do? Whatever choice you make. Just know I'm with you.

(Ivy and Camille walk into the conference room.)

Ivy Brown:

Me too.

(Cameron and Kirsten look at them.)

Camille Engelson:

Kirsten I'm sorry. I am so sorry. I never would've given your son to that mad man.

(Kirsten looks down at the table to think for a moment.)

Cameron Goodkin:

So what do you want to do Kirsten?

(Kirsten looks at him.)

Kirsten Clark:

I'm gonna find him. And I'm gonna stop him. He is not getting away with this.

Quincy Fisher:

I'd second that.

(Fisher walks into the room and stands by Ivy and Camille.)

Cameron Goodkin:

All right. We gotta come up with a plan. We gotta go in this smart. Otherwise we're dead.

(Everyone nods their heads in agreement.)

Scene 9

STITCHERS LAB-CORTEX:

(Ayo is examining the body. She looks at it and sees that everything is practically the same. Except for one thing. A shock expression comes across her face as she sees it. She hurries to Maggie's office.)

CUTS TO MAGGIE'S OFFICE

(Maggie and Admiral Decker are sitting in the office talking to each other.)

Admiral Decker:

Well, I never imagined this would happen.

Maggie Baptiste:

It did. Tragic as it was.

Admiral Decker:

And––the parents? Kirsten? Cameron?

Maggie Baptiste:

They're doing their best to keep themselves together.

Admiral Decker:

My heart goes out to them.

Maggie Baptiste:

Admiral, I need you to tell me everything. What was Ed doing experimenting on children?

Admiral Decker:

You know as much as I know. He wanted to create a stitcher who can stitch into the minds of others without a machine. Someone with the ability to know what other people are thinking with a simple touch or even just a glance. I never would've dreamed he would've went this far.

Maggie Baptiste:

Well, he did. Honestly, it's like I don't even know the man anymore.

Admiral Decker:

We all have our secrets Maggie. We all have our demons. Some just know how to hide it better.

Maggie Baptiste:

Yeah, they do.

(Ayo rushes into the office and stops. Maggie and Admiral Decker both look at her.)

Ayo:

I'm sorry, but––um––there's something very important you need to know.

Maggie Baptiste:

Well, what is it?

Ayo:

Camden's alive.

(Maggie stands up in a start.)

Maggie Baptiste:

What?

(Maggie walks over to her.)

Are you sure?

Ayo:

When we brought Camden in to do the stitch. I examined his body. He didn't have any sort of markings outside of his scar tissues. This one has a barcode on the back of his neck. Camden didn't have that.

(Admiral Decker stands up and looks at them.)

Admiral Decker:

When we shut down the project.

(Maggie and Ayo look at him.)

We took all of the test subjects. They all had barcodes on the back of their necks. Only two were unaccounted for. Camden––and another. As well, they all bared a striking resemblance to the young boy.

Ayo:

Clones?

Admiral Decker:

I believe so. But they weren't alive. They were all deceased. Their bodies rejected whatever Ed was doing to them and one by one they died. Many of them were of different ages.

Maggie Baptiste:

Making Camden the only living test subject. So the one we have here––

Ayo:

Is a clone.

Maggie Baptiste:

Then if that's true. Then where's Camden?

Admiral Decker:

I think the question should be––what does he want with him?

Scene 10

A LAB-SOMEWHERE IN THE WOODS:

(Two soldiers are standing in front of a closed room. They are carrying guns and are guarding whatever is inside the room. Inside the room, it is dark, and barely anything can be seen. The room is simple, a bed, a table with a chair, no windows and the only light that shines through the room is coming from the door. Singing is heard coming from the farthest right corner of the room.)

Camden Knight: (Singing to himself.)

Of all the comrades that 'ere I had/they're sorry for my going away/and all the sweethearts that 'ere I had/would wish me one more day to stay/so fill to me the parting glass/good night and joy be with you all.

(Camden is kneeling down in the huddle position, scared, and alone. He opens his eyes to show a bluish-white glow.)

OPENS TO A MEDICAL ROOM:

(A woman is lying down in the bed. She looks to be in a coma. Mr. X walks towards her and stops at her side. He looks down at her with a very distant and stern look on his face. He leans down and kisses her on her forehead. He stands up and continues to stare at her unconscious body.) FADE OUT
