One, two, three words at most,
No more, no less did I require of you.
That’s all that I needed to uncover your ghost
Which revealed the true you.

No masks, no lies but simply the truth,
A broken record stuck in repeat,
All your actions uncouth
As your life your mistakes continue to greet.

Peeling back the dream I now see
The pain you’ve been hiding,
Keeping you in deep misery.
I simply miss the days when your heart used to sing.

How convincing is that smile
As you greet your dream world
But the effect is short-term and will last only a while
Not long will it be before in the corner you are curled.

So I’m on my knees as I pray
For you to please let me in.
No more can I say.
I only hope to once again hear your heart sing.
