They sat him down and they buckled him in,
they soaked the sponge beneath the tin,
they checked the wires and armed the switch,
he did not flinch.
not a single twitch.
the lightning surged,
the current raced,
it snatched his breath from lifes embrace,
what did he do?
we did not care,
he was just food for the chair.

Great last line, and thoughtful as well. Altogether well written.
Mon, March 18th, 2013 12:23amThe last line gave it an amazing ending. I've realized that your poetry sounds beautiful when read aloud, and not all people can make their words flow in both ways. You have really inspired me with your last couple writings(:

More of the same as the Tyburn Jig, my responce is the same. To be ashamed of how we treat another human being. And you are right to say we don't know the story behind the event or even care or question it.

It was once said that “Not only must Justice be done; it must also be seen to be done”, however as far as I can see the systems goal is simply for it to seem! to have been done.
