..

The strange beast cries out through the darkness
Like a small child lost in the night
It's wails and screams charm forth thoughts
Which make the conscious mind reel in horror
It's ghostly tone doubles
And then explodes in volume and in temperament too
Before colliding in screeching brawls
Raising hell for beast and all
Now, having awoke the street
They fade into the silence
Safe in the knowledge
That they have destroyed the peace and quiet... cats!

Ben A Vanguarde

I didn't know where this was going. Great finish. Good storytelling in poetry.

Mr Watson

A very descriptive piece Luke, we had a fox the other year and it sounded like someone was getting murdered, the wife daren't open the blinds, I stayed in bed, only kidding, they don't half make a racket when there's two on the same patch.

They do indeed; I have a wood adjacent to me and the foxs/deer/who-knows-what love to serenade us with all kind of bloodcurdling screams. I tend to cut them a little more slack than the cats though. Thank you for the read and comment.
