A WALK WITH DANTE

I saw you in the underground, surrounded by people,

and my heart, begins its crazy dance and tickle.

You touch my hand, with caress and smoothly you say

“You have to learn, to gaze hell’s hot wind and decay”.

I cannot think, I cannot move,

the place is barren, there’s no groove,

why I came here, to the place where all constantly cry?

To meet the ones, who they don’t know that they have die?

Voices, cries, are heard in the dark by sinful souls,

in the chaos the devil’s meadow, is striking and burning their tombs.

It anticipates endlessly, lots of souls to eat,

Like the wolf who silences his hunger, with the fresh and bloody meat.

In a corner I see two lovers, tightly embraced,

their bodies are thrown into fire, for the account of the sins they made.

Why did you bring me here Dante, to Erebus dark cloak?

Are you going to count the minutes, of my life’s broken clock?

Tell me Dante what error I’ve made,

who I ached also thus for him I shall pay?

Pieces of my flesh begin to fall on the ground

just to be burned by the flames’ dancing sound.

And I’m still alive naked without the flesh to live,

this martyrdom, now, here, without any rest to feel.

And terrified in cold sweat, I suddenly, woke up,

Just to found a mark, a red huge trident, on my back.
