Water starts at the fingertips,
rushing and cooling the passion that runs hot.

the passion hisses and sizzles; extinguished

unheeding, the Water runs on.

Seeping into lungs:
they cough
they sputter.
Overwhelming the brain in a
surge of froth and blue.

enveloping a flame in murky depth.

Finally reaching the heart;
drowning it.
