rough skeletons of trees claw at the sky,
their arms frosty, cold.
leaves crunch with every step,
disembodied parts of a thriving forest.
my Fingers curl into a tightly knit fist;
the winter air nips at them, numbing the feeling.
i blow on them, the warmth is instantaneous,
miraculous,
brief.
