“I want the super powers, the whole package. The mind control, the speed, the strength, I want to fly!” Erik was jumping by now. He was so excited and nervous. The hobo/Vampire stared at him in utter disbelief, and rolled his eyes. “I want to drink the blood of all of my enemies! I want to have sex like no human can ever do.”

“Alright kid, listen up.” Erik had made some connections with the now hobo/Vampire by the internet. Vampires don’t age, and this one looked horrible. Erik was so blind; he forgot to check for fangs. “There are three things you need to do before turning.”

“Damn. Is it necessary?” he whined.

“Yes, it is. Now stop whining and listen to me!” Erik sat down across form the hobo/Vampire with his legs crossed, elbows resting on his knees, texting his mom. “What are you doing?”

“I’m texting my mom. I told her to shut the fuck up or I’ll suck her dry.” Erik smiled. The hobo/Vampire snatched the phone from his hands with a speed no human can do, and smashed it with one fisted hand. Erik smiled, eager to get started. “Sweet trick.”

“First you need to dig up a body.” Erik nodded excitedly, willing to do anything. “This body is important because it belonged to a Vampire Hunter. He has a ruby medallion that will grant you glamour.”

Both Erik and the hobo/Vampire called a cab from a public phone and then walked to the oldest cemetery of the Bronx, and as the hobo/Vampire pointed at the decided tomb, Erik got to work. As he opened the casket, he smiled in triumph, and fisted the medallion in the air. The hobo/Vampire snatched it away from him and hid it in one of his raggedy pockets.

“That’s mine!” Erik shouted at the hobo/Vampire. “Not yet.” Was his only response.

As they walked in silence, they stood in front of a church’s steps. The hobo/Vampire turned around to face Erik, halting him in his steps. “Second, you must gather the Golden Bible at the podium.”

“I thought Vampires where allergic to that shit?” Erik’s face was of a confused one. He looked from the church to the hobo/Vampire as if he lost his mind. “Once we have the Golden Bible, you will be turned holding it so you won’t be affected by it. Don’t you want to be a strong vampire, Erik?”

“Fuck yeah!” Erik ran passed the big wooden red doors of the church and came back twenty minutes later with the Golden Bible. A triumphant grin plastered on his face. “Now what?”

The hobo/Vampire looked sideways towards Erik and smiled at himself. “Now we dig a hole for you in the cemetery.” Erik stopped walking and fisted his hands ready to strike if needed to. “What!”

“In order for the transformation to be complete, you need to be buried after I bite you. You will dig yourself out by yourself, gaining all of the strength to be needed.” When Erik gave him a doubtful look, he said very convincingly, “It is a way of knowing if a Vampire is worthy to walk among the living.”

Erik clapped his hands together, and barked a laugh. “Lets do this.” They walked back towards cemetery where they first dug out the first corpse. As Erik worked on his own tomb, the hobo/Vampire kept caressing the Golden Bible and the Ruby Medallion like an old lover. “Soon.” He whispered.

While he was shoveling the dirt, he looked towards the hobo/Vampire and asked “How were you turned?”

He stared at the sky, and closed his eyes as the flash of the memory played behind his eyelids. “Against my will, during battle.”

“Alright. I’m done. Ready to turn me into a Vampire?” Erik jumped out of the hole, and took off his shirt. The hobo/Vampire looked at him with utter disbelief and disgust. Erik was a pimply fat kid, short, and cross eyed. It was kind of funny to begin with, but now that he had to sink his teeth into the fatty flesh, it all didn’t look as funny as it did.

“Come here.”

He bit Erik and sucked his blood as moaned in pleasure. When he felt the boy’s body go limp in his arms, he pulled away, spat the blood, and threw him in the hole. He began to burry him, as fast as he was able too, and was done in less than a minute.

The hobo/Vampire sat on one of the tomb stones with the Golden Bible resting on his lap, and the Ruby Medallion around his neck. Suddenly his pale skin become warmer and pinkish, his eyes to it’s natural green summer oak color, and fangs retracted.

He was human now.

So when Erik rose from the tomb, digging himself out, he jumped up and down testing his knew agility. “Awesome.” But even before he got to test his other abilities, he was staked in the heart by a small golden stake, the Ruby Medallion’s light protecting the hobo/Vampire as he worked his magic.

A gurgled question rose to the lips of Erik Dorkman. “Who...are...you?”

The hobo/Vampire smiled sweetly at the pimply now staked vampire, and whispered powerfully.

“Abraham.” When the body of the new vampire began to whither, he threw it back in the dirt hole and began to shovel it covered. “Abraham Van Helsing.”

When he was done, he spat more blood to the ground. Picking up the Golden Bible and placing the stake back inside it’s covers, he began to walk fast paced, whistling all the while, disappearing into the starry night.
