Thou loveth the things that cheer thee well

From a Carafe’ of water ,

To a Chianti wine chilled.

Lest life shall have enough of me,

and no more am I

Then indulge in the good things,

you have only one life.

Thou loveth the things that cheer thee well

Fine perfumes and powders,

sweet scented smells

Beautiful, hypnotic,

fine silks and gems.

You have but one life,

be sure to enjoy it.

Thou loveth the things that cheer thee well

Love, shared unconditionally,

is life as well

Lest flowers and beauty fade from one’s eyes

Thou loveth the air we breathe,

Thou loveth this life!
