Oh what a beautiful sight to behold, as men and women brave and bold.
Return from wars all tired and worn, survivors they now are coming home.
So many will never grace their homes, as in caskets they returned to the loves left at home.
There’s others limbless, confused, in mental pain.
Their anguish will linger, as they battle again.
Those who missed families, husband and wives, children who have never met their fathers, in their very short lives.
These are the people who will carry around
The sounds of the bombings, nightmares of loud guns.
Though there’ll be many to greet them and cry, their tears are hidden as they go through the motions of civilian life.
Who will support them as challenged they will feel
When inside of them there’s the heartache of their friends who were not so lucky.
Still it’s a joy, a beautiful day, when men and women are coming home finally.
