African Footsteps

African footsteps
African heartbeats
Mesh together
With the beat of the drum
The bongos play
And their feet move
In rhythm
With the watching sun
Beads of sweat
They laugh
Join hands
And pat their feet
In the red sand
People soar
They chant
Hair flies
Around faces
Happy to be
Alive

Footsteps, pound
Footsteps, pound
To the beat of the drum
To the beat of the drum
