A man in a room has a jar of happiness, a cup of hope, but realizes something is missing.

He sat in his room all day

Where he knew it would be safe.

“No one can hurt me here” he would say.

People knocked on the door

It was locked.

He had everything he needed.

A jar of happiness

A cup of hope.

He looked over and noticed that a bottle was empty.

There was no label on it.

He knew something was missing.

He could feel it.

Even though he had a full jar off happiness

A cup of hope

There was a jar that was empty

But shouldn’t that be all he needed?

He paced around the room.

Looking what would fill the jar.

Nothing worked.

One day he was looking out the window

And saw a girl.

For the first time he wanted someone in that room.

Someone he can share his jars with.

She knocked on his door.

For the first time he unlocked it

And she came in.

She lived in the room with him

And he felt he wasn’t missing anything anymore.

He looked over to the empty jar and it was filled

All he needed was a label for it.

He knew exactly what was in the jar.

He wrote down “you”.
