Everyone has a dark side and although we hate to admit it, that little devil lurks around in our heads. This is a little something to kinda explain it. Hope u like it. Please comment.

The Devil’s Humour

By: Adwoa G. Darko

Your misery makes me laugh
Your happiness makes me cough.
You have a God
I am your sub-conscious god.
I will make you worship me
But your character does that anyway.

Filthy peasant! When will you ever learn?
Failure and disgrace is what you earn
But you never learn!
Riches I will drop on your doorstep
Pleasure, you will never miss.
Come to me and you will be happy, promise!

Fools! Why do you curse me?!
In your bid to hurt me,
You draw me closer to you.
Sniff, sniff, sniff
Is that fear I smell?
Curse not so that yea shall not be cursed.
You make me laugh!

Misery and Joy begins now.
The end results of your decisions, I know not.
But I promise you this,
You will follow me.
It is a fact.
The heart of man is filled with the pleasures of the world
So you see, you will follow me.

Neat I like it, so dark yet so true. For some reason it makes me think of Alucard from hellsing.

I am commenting in a way that I am writing you a letter, but this is my style.
I think that you wrote many poem that's why you know how to balance stanzas. The poem in like a monograph, related to one topic. Not your single word is profane. That's Good. I want to ask you that who is your favorite poet, Mine is Allama Iqbal, the national poet of Pakistan, India and Iran.

So keep writing in the same way and I will search for some more poems of yours. The topic you chose was good and very intresting and the way you wrote was also nice that you are not a devil but for some moments you thought that you rae a devil and you wrote this poem.

This thing is very necessary.
Keep it up!:)

Thank you so much. Glad you liked it. Actually, i have not written that many poems. I only started writing poems this April. It's sort of weird but cos i sort disliked poetry in High School but now i live it. Prett cool, uh? i think Shakespear is my favourite poet; haven't read that many :)

Very good. I like how it speaks of how everyone will sucumb.

Sat, May 15th, 2010 10:39am

Yeah, everyone human is vulnerable to the evil one.

Wed, May 19th, 2010 8:37am

Hmmm... If there's a devil in everyone, then does that mean that some peoples' devil is stronger (for example: murders, robbers, etc.)?

Wed, June 23rd, 2010 5:52pm

That's an interesting question. I think that we all have evil thoughts but we do not allow it to control us. But when we allow our evil thought to consume us, that's when we loss sight of what is good and thirst for something we perceive as entertaining (ie. robbery, raping, killing sprees) to occupy the emptiness we have created in ourselves or others have created in us.

I hope that helps. ^_^
