The Taste Of Dead Wood

I sparked a fuse in my diamond mind

I think I blew up my fright

I sought thru the depths of my dreary dreams

I think I knew what went wrong

I fell off the coast and was swept away

By a dead rat in the maze

I ate the drift log

Knew no way to carry on

Then the hemline of temptation

Grumbled a riddle that spoke from my heart

I chewed up the tanbark

Then digested thee insanity of art

I recycled myself

Over and over, 'til I could no longer change

I have no idea what it will take

If I crushed my head

What part of me would be dead?

If I knew how to be told

If I knew how to answer

If I gave up my control

And let the timestamp do the pondering

Would I still be able to be wandering?

I have no clue what the dead say

Amongst each other lying in their grave

But if I saw the world dance

Under the starlit flames again

How much of me would know nothing

Ever again?
