I am reading a book called red scarf girl for my summer reading list and it is very instresting and I love how the writer is explaining her life in that time not old enough to understand what extactly is happening. This is an auto-biography about a young girl living in the 1960's china during the revolution. I have lots of opions too. There is a group of people called the red gaurds and I think (not to offened past red gaurds or people living in china during this time) are putting people over the people of black blood. I for one think it is unfair that just because someone came from a rich culture or wears nice clothing or have something that might be rich in their lives does not mean they are putting themselves on the top of the rank and it was unfair for that girl to through that even though she had nothing to do with her Grandfather being a landlord. I also notice that in the book there was a part where the red gaurds asked for an elderly man's bike, when he replied no they threatened him and made him sit in the sun untill he fainted. Later they stole his bike. That shows that they were acting over people and not thinking of the old man's health but a selfish reason for a bike. When they had a van to carry them around. Would you have said no? They also said that people who commited suiside didn't need a proper funneral. What do you think? We also in America went through a revolution time the 20's to 70's where women couldn't have jobs, where blacks could not drink from a white water fountion. We all have different opions some might think that the red gaurds were right to treat an ELDERLY PERSON this way for denying them. Some might think a women's only job is to take care of kids, cook, and clean. But let me say something if a 12 year old thinks this is wrong already, What if this was you in this situation and would you fell the red gaurds were still right and do you think the only job of a lady is in the house? I really want to here what you think of the questions asked and I want you to awnser them. Comment me.
