This is a poem I wrote back in April '07. Since I hardly ever sleep I find myself doing alot of writing and re-writes. This is one of them. It is about not taking chances.

Because you have no reaction at all

I don't know what to do

Seems like every step I take

Gets me all tangled up in

What's not, what I want

And You.

Because you can't see me standing right there

I can't see my own reflection in the mirror

I'm transparent, frozen in midflight

I have no beginning, no middle, no end

Not even 20/20 hindsight.

Because you can't hear me

I barely listen to myself

My head says no! My heart screams

It all falls on deaf ears

Except of course,in the haunting dreams.

Because you can't feel me

I shut up and shut down

Hiding behind the wall

I refuse to acknowledge

Any need, any desire for you

Lest I trip and fall.

Because you have no reaction at all

I've come to conclude

That we, you and I, are the same

Walls and empty halls

And this insane game.
