Don't force a new relationship to be perfect in an instant. It takes time... and who wants a 'perfect' relationship anyway?

Ever experienced numbness?
Like when you sleep on your arm,
you smother it, and deaden it...
in the end, it feels numb to you
like it's not there at all.

You don't know if it's cold, or hot,
no pain whatsoever, not for a while anyway.

After a long time,
it feels like your own limb again,
but it feels different to your others,
doesn't it? It doesn't work the same...

It's just like
 your heart, you know.
It swells, and you put pressure on it to feel,
feel the extremes because
it's what you're supposed to feel,
isn't it?

He takes you away, from your own body
Doesn't he? He makes you feel special.

Soon enough,
you don't know whether your cold or hot,
no pain whatsoever...
 Not for a while anyway.

I felt like that once,
I felt a weak love, so I strained my heart to feel something better.
He was worth that, I thought.

I wasn't so much obsessed with him...
I just loved the idea of love.
Passion, romance.

My heart went numb,
I was cold to people without meaning to be...
After a while it became my own heart again.
But it doesn't work the same.
Not really.
