I could never phrase exactly what I feel, but this comes close to what I mean when I say, "I love you".

If I wrote a poem for you
from the heart the words would flow
and as the pen ignites the page,
like my love, the poem would grow.

Every strand of hair on your head,
and every step you take
would equal one more line to fill,
one more word I wish to say.

The sunlight illuminates your hair,
the ground burns beneath your feet.
Every smile you throw my way,
cuts my eternal love deep.

Not one word, in any language,
truly defines my emotion
but I would keep on writing to you
to show my love and devotion.

Hopefully one day, I would come to a line
that would discard all the rest.
One line that would say it all
but not say anything less.

As I begin this poem to you,
My pen itches to stray.
To scrawl every emotion you make me feel
but I cannot write this way.

Three words would begin the poem,
and three would bring its end.
three words that will only do...
Three words that are
"I love you".
