You want me to be just like you, I guess

Nothing more nothing less

Lonely as the moon

If I ever start a conversation again, it'll be too soon.

You treat me like someone must've treated you

Cold like the morning dew

Hoping I'll ache

If I ever don't feel lonely, I'll be at the bottom of a lake

You expect short replies

Behind the messages a girl cries

Praying I'll be crying a river

If I ever learned to swim, I'll sink as I forget in shivers.

You get my hopes up

Because it's easy to play a naive girl

Doubting any chance I'll catch on

But this river leads into a lake mid dawn.

You play your sick little game

Assuming I'll play along

Except this story has a twist

The lake is no deeper than my small fist.
