 Wild Things

There by the moon do the wild things grow

Tame as a wolf, red as a bull’s blood

With silver rays does its golden bud show—

And its petals like discord

Perfectly designed to poison their hearts

There by the moon do the wild things grow

Its stems of hatred and leaves of bronze,

Sopping from the loathing of bodies mundane

Immortal its nectar

A deadly elixir to the soul

There by the moon do the wild things grow
