Sometimes the sky cries too. But not always in the form of rain.

A Frozen Cry

Snow glitters in the sunlight
Falling lightly to the ground,
Studying the snowflake, fragile and white
As they melt without a sound.

Cold air standing still
In this moment of perfect peace,
Beauty in a battle against the chill
A world of silence that will eventually cease.

Snowflakes meet their doom
Melting quickly on the concrete,
Such a sad story of gloom,
Golden rays of light begin to heat

Globs of white fall from trees
Landing among fellow crystalline friends,
Melting snow creates symbolic seas
The moment of stillness finally ends.

Tiny streams of water flee from their mother snow
Creating puddles in the grass,
Water sinking into the ground so low
That clay creates a wall so it cannot pass.

Snow stops falling from the sky,
Dark clouds dispersing to reveal blue,
They stop their frozen cry,
Who knew the sky could have feelings too?
