We can't seem to escape the box, life's prison, but the motions will never waste our patience.

The day after tomorrow, no place to begin
I've witnessed loss of faith in a connection
Your face is too difficult to take in
You made me stay, to my recollection

Before me, the fire within has gone dim
How quickly we forget the reminders
Of how that was that, how this is then
The immovable mountains, the great dividers

We can't seem to escape the box, life's prison
Never will the motions waste our patience
Like a phoenix, from the ashes arisen
Play the final note, just one last cadence
