Beautiful things can happen when friends converse, and in turn, intervene.

Heavy eyes have been at the wheel as of late
Thankfully this delicate wall guards my fate
Fighting a hazy mind, grasping for sober
A blessed friend rescued me one October

"To let go, to grow and learn
Between these thoughts you must discern
With right and wrong, the timing matters not
Turn the page, dispel what's left you distraught

You dealt with the dealer and you got busted
Buying into a trade which you once disgusted
Listen, commit to memory, hold your tongue
Forget, lose yourself, you may get stung

Could I have helped ease your pain?
Or did I turn away in unknown disdain?

Your eyes appear wistfully starry
Whatever the cause may be - I'm sorry"

Some believe nothing or everything they hear
Whether it be out of their imperception or fear
The love he showed me made me reconsider;
How could anyone ever live a life so bitter?
He said he wouldn't leave me there
Why? Because he really does care
